A-Levels
Sixth Form students are encouraged to broaden their knowledge base by taking exams in up to four subjects in Lower Sixth and then either continuing with all four in Upper Sixth or focusing on three of them.
Our timetable is designed to offer maximum choice and flexibility, enabling students to study combinations of Science, Social Science, Arts and Languages as they wish.
Our learning programmes mean that students can join us throughout the academic year, not just in September. There are many examples of students starting with us between October and January, and even later, and achieving very successful results.
We also accept students who wish to transfer from other institutions throughout the two year period. However, such transfers do usually occur at the end of Lower Sixth.
Many students come to the college because they feel they have outgrown their school, are looking for something more challenging to ensure they are better prepared for university or because their school simply do not do A Levels.
During the two years students learn to take responsibility for themselves and become independent learners. Personal organisation, discipline, working to deadlines, sorting out priorities and obtaining an understanding of how best to learn all contribute to the student being fully prepared to cope with the demands of university study.
